Project: Helping World Vision Canada turn evidence into a living decision-making tool

To serve the decision-making processes and reporting needs of an organization, its evidence and impact analysis framework must match the unique aspects of what it does and how it does it.

World Vision Canada is no different. The organization implements core program models – proven, evidence-based frameworks that guide consistent but locally adaptable interventions to improve child well-being – across countries and communities. A challenge for World Vision Canada has been to rigorously measure and report on its impact and value-for-money as an organization.

Since 2022, Limestone Analytics has helped World Vision Canada to conduct cost-benefit analysis of 14 of these core program models. Limestone’s work has enabled World Vision Canada to report rigorously on its impact and value-for-money as documented in its recent annual reports (links…).

Building on that work, Limestone has since introduced an innovative approach to continually report the organization’s impact that:

  • relies on existing primary and secondary data,
  • builds on the most defensible assumptions,
  • is highly localized for each implementation (context, time, scope, etc.), and
  • updates using World Vision Canada’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) data.

The result is faster, more consistent, and easier-to-sustain estimates of the impact of World Vision Canada programming. By integrating data with World Vision Canada’s data systems, the organization can refresh results regularly as new program performance and cost data become available, while preserving the transparency and rigour needed for credible analysis. This work strengthens World Vision Canada’s ability to compare programs, guide investment decisions, and use evidence more efficiently across its portfolio.
